The North American Technician Excellence (NATE) program is the biggest non-profit HVAC certification program in America. It involves tests developed by a committee of experts including contractors, manufacturers, educators and utility companies.
In today’s post, your local air conditioning contractor, Air Pro Inc., talks about the perks of working with NATE-certified technicians.
What You Get From NATE-Certified Technicians
You can be assured that the job will be done right the first time when you hire NATE technicians. They’ve taken tests that meet a certain level of standards, so you can be sure that they’re experts at what they do. NATE technicians are extensively trained and committed to remaining in the industry for a long time.
One area in particular that NATE technicians are trained in is the latest proper HVAC installation techniques. This means you can avoid significant air conditioner and furnace repair costs and have peace of mind knowing that they install products that come from leading manufacturers.
Who’s Qualified for a NATE Certification?
Technicians who are applying for NATE certification are encouraged to have field experience and formal training. It’s recommended to have at least one year of experience for installation technicians, two years for service technicians and five years for senior technicians.
A company must have 25% of their technicians be NATE certified for it to even be considered for NATE certification as a basic contractor. A standard contractor must have 50% certified technicians, and 75% for a quality circle contractor.
